Matt has been on the brush for twenty-five years. He registered Academy Painters And Decorators as a limited company in Hamilton on the 18th of September 2008. Katie is co-shareholder, runs the back office, books the jobs and keeps the paperwork honest. It's been the two of them, 50/50, for seventeen years.
The job's not finished when the paint's dry. It's finished when the customer walks the room and can't find a brush mark, a thin patch, or a missed edge.
The crew is small by choice. Matt walks every job before we quote it, and runs every job from prep to handover. No salesperson selling something the painter has to deliver.
